Khimo Gumatay, the grand champion of “Idol Philippines” Season 2, will hold his first major solo concert at the Music Museum in Greenhills on October 25, 2024, at 8:30 p.m. Titled “KH1MO Emerge. Energize. Elevate,” the show marks both the second anniversary of his win and his birth month.
Solo Concert Announcement
Since winning “Idol Philippines” Season 2 in 2022, Khimo has performed on “ASAP,” released singles under Star Music, and guested in concerts by OPM icons Randy Santiago and Dingdong Avanzado. The October 25 show will be his first major solo concert, directed by Carlo Jan Landrito with Elmer Blancaflor as musical director. Tickets are available at the Music Museum box office.

Joining Khimo are “Tawag ng Tanghalan” Duets grand champions JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano, along with Douglas Masuda, known as “The Elvis Presley of Japan,” and singing executive Joey San Andres.
Dedicating the Show to Family and Supporters
At the press conference announcing the concert, Khimo said he was dedicating the show to the people who have stood by him. “I dedicate my first major concert to my family na laging andyan sa akin 24/7. Walang humpay silang sumusuporta sa akin. Andyan din yung mga kaibigan ko and my ASAP family na naniniwala pa rin sa akin. Gusto ko rin magpasalamat sa mga supporter ko dahil kung wala sila, we’re just an ordinary human being na kumakanta lang,” he said.
Reflecting on Life After the Win
Khimo also spoke about what winning “Idol Philippines” has meant for his career since 2022. “Parang recognized ako pero hindi ko masasabi na sikat ako. For me, success is a process and it is something that must be earned. Fuel ko ‘yun to strive further and move forward,” he said.
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez, who has mentored and supported Khimo, described him as a singer “who knows how to play his cards well, how to hit the high notes, and charm his audience.”
What to Expect
The concert is expected to run about an hour and a half, featuring songs spanning the late 1970s to the present. Khimo has said he is preparing not just the setlist but also how to sustain his energy throughout the show alongside his guest performers.
