Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, known as the “KimPau” pairing, are set to appear together on the big screen for the first time in the romantic comedy My Love Will Make You Disappear. The film is produced by Star Cinema and marks their debut feature-length collaboration as lead actors.
The duo previously gained attention for their on-screen chemistry in the 2023 series Linlang and the Filipino adaptation of What Happened to Secretary Kim in 2024. My Love Will Make You Disappear continues their partnership with a lighthearted, romance-driven story built for cinemas.

The story follows Samantha “Sari” Gonzales (Kim Chiu), a woman who believes that every man she falls for eventually disappears from her life. Her perspective begins to shift when she meets Jacob “Jolo” Antonio (Paulo Avelino), a landlord struggling with debt while trying to save his apartment complex and the residents living there.
Their relationship starts with conflict over the future of the property, then evolves into an unusual arrangement. Jolo attempts to use Sari’s supposed “curse” to his advantage, only to develop genuine feelings. The film blends romance and humor with themes of resilience and Filipino hope.

Star Cinema released the film’s official teaser on February 4, 2025, with the tagline: “Kung ang love mawawala nang paulit-ulit, susugal ka ba ulit?” (“If love keeps disappearing, would you still take the risk?”). The official trailer followed on February 14, 2025. The clip quickly drew attention online, with viewers discussing the story’s emotional tone and the dynamic between the lead characters.

The film is directed by Chad Vidanes and written by Patrick Valencia and Isabella Policarpio. It incorporates familiar Filipino cultural elements, including community relationships and everyday local settings.
Kim Chiu first announced the project during an episode of It’s Showtime on August 12, 2024. This marks Star Cinema’s return to producing projects featuring the two actors after several years. Avelino had previously expressed interest in working with Chiu, noting their contrasting personalities and evolving on-screen chemistry.

My Love Will Make You Disappear will open in cinemas worldwide, beginning in the Philippines on March 26, 2025. The film will then screen in the United States and Canada on March 28, 2025. North American screenings are organized in partnership with Abramorama.
Avelino, known for his performances in Fan Girl and Ngayon Kaya, brings a more dramatic background to the role, while Chiu—who rose to fame through Pinoy Big Brother and later starred in Bride for Rent—describes the film as a refreshing project in her career. The lead pair share over 40 million followers on social media.
