MANILA – Double Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo is eagerly looking forward to some relaxation after his impressive performances at the Paris Games and subsequent public engagements. Upon his return to Manila, Yulo, along with other Filipino Olympians, has been fully occupied with various events, including a visit to Malacañang and a victory party held at Newport World Resorts.

Heroes’ Welcome Parade in Manila
On Wednesday, Yulo led the Paris Olympics participants in a grand heroes’ welcome parade in Manila, much to the excitement of their Filipino fans. Earlier that day, Yulo attended an event where he was presented with the keys to his brand-new, fully furnished condominium unit at McKinley Hills in Taguig City, awarded by a prominent real estate company.

Anticipation for a Break
After a series of public appearances, Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) president Cynthia Carrion shared that Yulo is keen on taking a break. “He wants to rest. He really wants to. He’s asking if he can rest after this,” Carrion told select reporters at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, where the parade concluded.

Upcoming Commitments Before Vacation
However, before Yulo can enjoy his much-anticipated vacation, he still has some obligations to fulfill. Carrion mentioned that Yulo has “deliverables” for a car company. “He’s leaving for Paris again in September for Toyota, where he has some commitments,” she revealed. “So, he’s going to Toyota, and that’s his last. After that, he’ll be back.”

A Chance to Explore the Philippines
Despite the remaining commitments, the GAP president confirmed that Yulo will eventually get the well-earned rest he deserves. “Of course, he’ll continue training because a gymnast cannot stop training. But after that, he’s going on vacation.”
Carrion expressed her wish for Yulo to explore the beauty of the Philippines during his time off. “He’s never seen the Philippines. He’s never seen Boracay. He’s never seen Palawan. He’s never seen the beauty of the Philippines. So, this time, I want him to take some time off to see Boracay and visit other places,” she added.
